Jed Murphree M.S., LPC: Jed’s non-traditional academic path and eclectic work history has helped temper and hone his skills as a Licensed Professional Counselor. His undergraduate degree in Adventure Education/Wilderness Leadership from Prescott College in Arizona led to his instructing back-country travel and mountaineering courses for the Colorado Outward Bound School, Alaska Pacific University and the Santa Fe Mountain Center. He returned to the Huntsville, Alabama area and completed his Master’s degree in 2006 in Counseling Psychology. Jed then spent six years providing therapy services in different capacities for Mountain Lakes Behavioral Healthcare operating in Marshall and Jackson counties. Licensed since 2011, he owns his own private practice and contracts to provide trainings on various topics. Jed has worked with both adults and adolescents learning to cope with a wide variety of mental and emotional challenges, including sex addictions, and has found a niche counseling those considered resistant to change or in need of something in addition to cognitive behavioral therapies.
